Why Dormy

Founder-led. Private by default. Transparent in writing.

Dormy exists for clients who want quiet, competent handling of physical precious metals, without call-center scripts, high-pressure coin pitches, or fear marketing.

Founder

Two decades in physical metals. One standard.

Dormy's founder has spent his career inside the physical precious-metals industry, working directly with private clients, custodians, and depositories.

David Love founded Dormy, Inc. in 2018 to build the private-bank standard he wished had existed for his own clients: deeply personal, entirely transparent, and paid to do right, not to churn.

His career in physical precious metals began in 2006. The conviction to build Dormy was forged in 2008, when he watched traditional portfolios lose value overnight and saw first-hand what resilient, tangible assets could do for prepared families.

Across his career, he has overseen more than $1 billion in precious metals purchases and sales.

About these figures

The $1 billion figure describes the dollar value of precious metals purchases and sales David Love has overseen during his career in the physical precious metals industry, which began in 2006, including his work before he founded Dormy, Inc. in 2018. It is a career figure for the founder, not a Dormy, Inc.-only result. It measures activity, not client investment returns, and is not a projection of future performance.

Operating philosophy

How Dormy is different.

Founder-led

Founder oversight

Every engagement is overseen by founder David Love. No handoffs to a rotating call center; no scripted 'closers'.

Discreet by commitment

Private client relationships

Dormy does not publish client names, portfolio detail, or transaction data in marketing. Reputation is built on referrals and published education.

Transparent pricing

Written quotes, expressed spreads

Spot reference, premium, spread, and applicable fees are shown in writing on every quote, with an explicit expiration window.

Bullion-first

No pressure toward premium coins

Most clients are best served by bullion. Higher-premium collectible or 'proof' coins are only recommended when they fit an explicit objective, never as a default.

Client Bill of Rights

What every Dormy client is entitled to.

Straight answers

Plain-English explanations of products, fees, spreads, and process, without industry jargon.

Written disclosures

Fees, premiums, custodial charges, and storage costs delivered in writing before any purchase.

Time-stamped quotes

Every quote shows product, quantity, spot reference, premium, spread, and an explicit expiration window.

No high-pressure tactics

No manufactured scarcity, no artificial deadlines, no fear marketing.

Ownership of your metals

For IRA holdings, metals held in your account's name at an IRA-approved depository, with statements sent directly to you.

Ongoing access

A consistent point of contact who remains available for questions, additions, sales, or distributions.

Education over persuasion

A published library that teaches you to read any dealer's quote and ask the right questions, whether you choose Dormy or not.

A candid note

Precious metals aren't for everyone.

Physical precious metals can play a real role in a diversified plan, but they don't produce income, they carry premiums and storage costs, and their prices fluctuate. If a firm promises guaranteed returns or tells you metals cannot lose value, walk away.

Dormy's job is to help you decide whether physical metals are right for you, and, if so, to source, transact, store, and service them to a private-bank standard. Nothing more, nothing less.
